The Driversnote iBeacon is a small Bluetooth device that transmits a signal. When you place the iBeacon in your car, your phone picks up the signal every time you get into it and the app automatically begins to track your journey. When you exit the car by the end of your journey, the app finishes recording your trip.
An iBeacon will give you the most precise automatic tracking since it tells the app exactly when to track. Motion tracking is based on the motion detection of your phone. This can include trips with public transport, bicycle rides or a trip in a colleague's vehicle. You can avoid this by having an iBeacon in the vehicle you want to track.
